20.09.25 Some of us joined the Make Them Pay march (see picture above) from Portland Square to Downing Street. This coalition campaigns on Taxing the super-rich, protecting workers, not billionaires, and making polluters pay. More details on www.makethempay.org.uk

06.09.25 Rosebank oil/gas field development in the North Sea. Actions took place at seven locations. Earlier this year we wrote to the Government expressing concern about this major development by Norwegian oil giant Equinor and Israeli/UK Ithaca, which had been temporarily halted. There is a risk that Parliament may still permit the development to go ahead in the autumn. Concerned? There's still time for you to find out about this massive development:  www.stopcambo.org.uk, then contact your MP via www.writetothem.com. Remember to mention Our Grandchildren's Climate.

28-31.08.25 â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹The UK sent four delegates to the International Conference of European Grandparents for Climate (www.grandparentsforclimate.eu) in Oslo 28-31 August. The forty delegates from 10 countries also joined more than a dozen environmental groups in a pre-election protest march against the continued drilling for gas and oil.

14.07.25: Debate in Parliament around investing pensions in green projects. Exchange between MP Tulip Siddiq and Secretary of State Ed Miliband (with a brief mention of Our Grandchildren's Climate). Follow the debate at Minute 16:32  onwards: https://parliamentlive.tv/event/index/dcbc4d57-f20a-483e-8770-9e4f80cb0146?in=16:32:41.

09.07.25: (see picture at top of page) Under the umbrella of The Climate Coalition, more than 5 000 people (including a dozen of us) from over 120 organizations gathered at the Mass Lobby of MPs in Westminster. A brief media interview with one of us is here: https://www.southwalesguardian.co.uk/news/national/25301519.thousands-meet-mps-westminster-mass-lobby-climate-action/ : One of our members has received a very supportive letter from his MP. The full text will be published in Newsletter no.2; it could act as an inspiration not to give up on writing to ours. It's still not too late.

07.05.25  A group of us joined other protestors outside Barclays Bank AGM in London, and one of our members (who held a couple of shares - out of 14 billion ordinary shares!) asked a question of the Board relating to their policy of providing banking services for and investing in fossil-fuel companies. . You can hear and see our action here: https://youtu.be/FJ8u4-Jo3bk?si=I-MuJDBQuChlupyM

30.01.25. We joined hundreds of others outside the Appeal Court in London to  campaign for the release of the imprisoned climate activists. Of the sixteen, just three had their sentences reduced by a small amount.

In response to our letter to the Government about our concerns about the development of the Rosebank oil field, the Environment Minister replied that no NEW licences were to be given unless a full assessment of SCOPE 3 emissions were first carried out (Scope 3 refers to emissions from the use of fossil fuels from SUBSEQUENT use of these fuels). We remain concerned that the publication of such an assessment by no means guarantees that such developments may not still go ahead.
